We primarily focus on fabrics made from cotton, polyester, and polycotton. In addition to abrasives, we also offer water-resistant and flame-retardant treatments for furniture, tents, awnings, and home textiles. We serve customers from all over the world.

Our Achievements

Eco coatings with more than 150 years of tradition

We are one of the few companies in the world to apply eco-friendly coatings based on starch, glue, and PVA to very light fabrics using unique technology with a tradition dating back more than 150 years.

Quality that stands up even in the NHL

We participate in the production of tape for hockey sticks used in the NHL.

Company of the Year 2024

From Náchod to the whole world – BARTOŇ Textil combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern approach to production. The title of Company of the Year in the Hradec Králové Region 2024 confirms the company's importance for the region and the industry.

Company history

BARTOŇ – textil a.s. is a traditional Czech textile manufacturer of technical fabrics with 150 years of experience in the high-quality production of finished textile products for global markets.

1867

Josef Bartoň – Dobenín founds a company

He focused on the treatment of raw fabrics – he owned a bleaching machine, a mangle, and a printing press, and later a drying room.

1885

A weaving mill and dyeing plant are established

The looms were initially powered by a water wheel, and later by a steam engine. In 1904, the company had 600 looms.

1906

Spinning mill built

Production expanded with the addition of a new cotton spinning mill on what is now Českoskalická Street (the Náchod-Hradec Králové road), which was the pinnacle of the industrial revolution in the Náchod region. The building remains in this form to this day.

1948

Nationalization and the family's departure to Canada

After 1948, the company was nationalized and the Bartoň family went into exile in Canada. The family business was interrupted for several decades.

1992

The company is returned to the family,
Bartoň – textilní závody a.s. established

The company is back in the hands of the Bartoň family and Bartoň – textilní závody a.s. is established. Continuing the family tradition has enabled further development of the company.

1998

J. Michael Bartoň – Dobenín joins the family business

A descendant of the Bartoň family enters the scene, continuing the family's textile tradition in Bohemia and joining the company's management after returning from Canada.

2012

Optimization of the Company

As part of its strategic development and optimization of its production focus, the company is moving to close its spinning mill, which represents an important step toward strengthening the company’s efficiency, innovation, and long-term stability.

2014

Majority ownership returns to the Bartoň family

The company is renamed to Bartoň - textil a.s. and the company continues to strengthen its family character.

2021

New machines and investments

The company is making significant investments in new technologies, including baking, packaging, and inspection machines, which enhance production efficiency and quality.

2022

Company Specialization

The year 2022 brings even greater specialization of the company’s product portfolio and a focus on textile finishing as a key business area. This process allows us to focus on promising areas of production, support further growth, and lay a solid foundation for the company’s future development.

2024

Entry of a new investor

The year 2024 represented a significant stage of further development for the company with 158 years of history. The entry of a new strategic partner ensured a stable background and created conditions for long-term sustainable growth.

New brand identity

Following the change in the company's management, processes are gradually being set up and optimized with the aim of expanding the portfolio of activities, increasing efficiency, and further strengthening the quality of products and services provided in accordance with quality management principles.
